Functional integrity according to DIN 4102-12

The cabling of modern buildings presents planners and architects with greater challenges than 20 years ago. The number of electrical consumers has increased significantly. At the same time, the requirements for functional protection in the event of a fault or fire have increased significantly.
With the P90 series, swibox has developed a portfolio of connection and junction boxes that all fulfil the high demands placed on modern and safe electrical installations.

Conventional cabling

Connection housing in accordance with DIN 4102-12 for extending and connecting electrical cables. Each fire compartment is supplied with its own supply cable. This leads to a high fire load in the supply shaft and is also associated with high installation and cost expenditure, as many cables have to be laid.

The swibox solution

The junction boxes are designed in accordance with DIN 4102-12 and EN 61439. Functional integrity is guaranteed, as the branch circuit is safely switched off in the event of a fault or fire. The fuse is accessible from the outside. The material and installation costs are approx. 30% lower, as considerably fewer cables are used.

UCB-Box E90

The swibox P90 UCB box is made of stainless steel V2A (1.4301). The enclosure is designed to accommodate electrotechnical components in accordance with EN 61439. The electrical connection is suitable for a maximum of 35 mm ² and 5-pole feed-through.
In the event of fire, the branch is switched off by a thermal switch. The sockets are protected by circuit breakers. The ceramic terminals and the thermal switch are structurally separated from the other electrical components and thus protected from stray parts.
The enclosure is closed by two sash locks. The electrical wiring is covered by metal sheets. These are provided with cut-outs to accommodate sockets and fuses.

Elektrant swibox P90 with functional integrity E90 to DIN61439

An electrant is a device for drawing off electrical energy, analogous to a hydrant, which is used to draw off water. Electrants are used, for example, in the railway sector as a service component of the local railway infrastructure.
Electrants with a functional integrity of up to 90 minutes are also used as part of the safety system for railway tunnels. In tunnelling areas, swibox electrants form the central interfaces for reliably supplying electrical rescue equipment, tools or lighting with power.
The swibox solutions are optimised for the specific requirements in each case, such as high pressure and suction forces, fire or other external influences.
